Marrying sister's husband

I saw a woman in her mid-thirties, with two sons about my age when I was 11. Even as little boy, I could recognize her beauty, the natural beauty that everyone could easily recognize. She had a fair milky complexion and an average height. In age, she was about the age of my mom, but still looked young and beautiful like a women in her late twenties.

Her sons became the best friends of mine till today. Her story goes like this. She was the youngest of eight siblings, loved and cared by all her elder siblings. She was far more beautiful than all her other siblings. She seems to have all the beauty from her parents. She also had
an elder sister who was nine years older to her. Her sister was married to a village gentle man when she was just in her early teenage years. As they grew together, her sister unfortunately met with a severe sickness and left the world, leaving behind her six children. Of which the youngest was just a baby of less than a year.

Her sister husband had to work hard to feed the children and also to meet the ever growing needs of the children. It was impossible for him to look after the little kids at home. So, he started to look for a decent woman who would love his kids as his previous wife did. But, it was as difficult as searching for a pregnant woman in the abode of nuns.

After many troubles and enduring the difficulties, the old man (the father of the deceased wife) could not tolerate to see his grandchildren starving and crying for their mom anymore. He went to his precious angel youngest daughter to look after the children of her elder sister by marrying her deceased sister's husband. She tried to say NO, but looking at her nieces and nephews, she had no choice but to sacrifice her lovely gift of beauty to her sister's brother and her sister's little children. Her dream of having her own handsome prince was all gone within a night.

That was how the beautiful dreams and castles she built in her mind collapsed like the tower of Babel. She was with tears with the news but on the other hand she also considered it as her duty to take care of the kids and the sister she loved. Besides she is a God fearing girl who always obeyed her parents in all the things. She believes that fearing her parents will bring a great blessing to her.

Months passed by as a married woman, she worked hard and soon gained the love all the kids as a motherly love. She was pregnant but luck didn't favor this time too. She had a son, who had to be operated out of her stomach in seven months of pregnancy. And after two years, she successfully delivered another son in a normal nine months pregnancy.

Her life yet continued to twist when her husband died within a year of her second son's birth. Now, she was all alone to look after all the kids. People knowing her felt pity but none could help. Many people couldn't understand as to why God could do these things to such good and faithful people who loved Him and pray to Him.

Years passed by, she got many suitors because of her incredible beauty which could not be destroyed just be having two kids. Yet she turned down all and sacrificed to take care of her kids. She is one great woman I have seen with my own eyes. With all these difficulties, she continued to pray to her God every morning and night for her kids and work hard in the farm and field with her parents as she was the only one left in the home after her elder siblings got married and moved on.

After a few years, her sons were taken by a charity school where they gave them education freely. She prayed and prayed in mountains, and whenever I see her, I use to wonder as to why she could ever be happy with an experience of this kind. She talks to me like her sons as I am a good friend of her sons. I wonder why God gave her such a life after blessing her with such a beauty.

Judging God's blessing is difficult, but she is one of the happiest women I have seen.Yet a widow.
