Is God really there?

Some people works for money, while others work for fame. And I wonder what is really worth working for. What is the main purpose of a person? What should be fulfilled in this short life on earth? Some people compare life like a play on stage, some call it as a journey towards eternity. Some believe in heaven and hell while some thinks that there is no life after death, while others believe in rebirth. Some believe in God while some believe in evolution.
However, if you stay quietly, listening to the instinct that God has embedded in the mind of every human being. There is no doubt everyone feels that there is a

Honesty with patience

Sometimes, it seems so meaningless when the righteous fails and the unrighteous prospers. It may easily discourage some people from being righteous. But the Psalmist says
"Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away"
Many people may say honesty is not the best policy anymore, but I feel it is still the best as it was and will always be the best policy. What the Lord hates is the sacrifice of the wicked, the sacrifice from the money earned by dishonest means, a sacrifice of thief. They may prosper in

To be a blessing for many...

Once, I decided to write down my prayers so that I could remember what the Lord has answered me according to my wishes. But what I found out was rather unexpected. The Lord showed me that my prayers were so selfish, I realize my selfishness. I thought praying to God for forgiveness, giving thanks and praying for myself to be a good person was a good deed. It is not bad but realize I was indeed one of the most selfish person. I didn't show the character of a good Christian.
If I was the child with the five bread and two fishes that Jesus blessed to feed the multitude, I don't think I will ever give that bread to Jesus. I'd rather give thanks to God for the bread and fishes I had and eat them quietly. I think this is what most Christians now a days would do. Yes, the other guys were lazy, they didn't bring anything to eat, they ought to starved. If a child could bring for his food, why can't they do the same?
But if we want to be a blessing for many people, we can't be selfish, thinking only for ourselves. We need to be like the child who would trust Jesus in everything he had.

The Best Investment

"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will reward them for what they have done." Proverbs 19:17

What will be better investment than lending to the Lord who have everything in heaven and earth? Buying stocks with your money and investing in different firms may give you profits sometimes, but many times it will only lead to greed and loss. Lending to a friend in need is still better because we know that they will pay us back with whatever they have, even if they couldn't pay us back we are still satisfied because they are our friend, after all. But nothing can beat lending to the Lord our God. He will always pay us back, and this is done by being kind to the poor.
The Lord always judges with justice, kindness and love. Being kind to the poor with all that we have in excess besides our needs will always be repayed. If the punishes the wrongs during the life in this world, how much more will He reward the righteous? Having the right view on how to use the blessings of God will make us a good steward of His richness.
If a normal human, a sinner filled with greed repays what you lend to him with interests, how much more will the Lord repay with interest. But the Lord repays those who gives Him willingly ands takes away from those who misuse His blessings, after all, everything belongs to the Lord.

Kingdom of God and His Righteousness

Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all things shall be added onto you”. This word is the key to get everything, but the meaning is so complicated. What does everything in this verse means? Does it mean all worldly riches or is it just eternal riches to be awarded after life in the land of eternity? We may know that a computer can be use to do many work faster and better, but if we don’t know how to use a computer, it will not help in our work. I have been studying this passage for a long time. I think I have understood some fraction of this sentence by the grace of God who speaks to me through the Bible.
Seek the kingdom: The first step in seeking the kingdom of God, we must try to know what the kingdom of God is. Jesus spoke of many parables telling us about the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God, the last can become the first and vice versa. It is always about serving others rather than to be served. Jesus himself showed us the greatest example through his life. About all the blessings, the best of all that no money can buy is the happiness, peace, joy and love that we get after seeking the kingdom of God. As a human with blood and flesh, it might be really difficult to be like our Lord, but we can at least seek what His Kingdom is which and try to be like one who is in His real kingdom. This will be a countless blessing even in this earth.
His Righteousness:  By reading the book of proverbs, we come across many things a righteous man does. In everymen’s heart, there is a power to know what is good and evil. This was caused by the sin in the Garden of Eden. So, in short, His righteousness means, we should follow the good will of the heart even when no breathing human being will know about the bad things we do for our personal gain. We must fear the Lord and feel his presence everywhere and every time.
All the things shall be added unto you: Here all the things means all the things, whatever we need and even whatever we want as long as it is for the glory of God and we do not stray away from His will. For a born again Christians, it doesn’t mean that we are totally free from all sins and worldly desires. We are the children of God and God will take care of us like His own children. God doesn’t give us things that will make us forget him or make us think that we are capable of living without Him. He always wants us to be close to Him and learn to trust Him, because we are to be with Him for eternity. And the promise is that He will always be with us through everything. The righteous may fall but God will always pick them up whereas the wicked may rise for a while, but at the end they will always wither like a fallen grass.
Example based on true story: There was a man who had two sons; both his sons were living away from him for their studies. One son earned the trust of his father by doing his work seriously and using the money his father sent in a proper way that help him in his studies. While the other son lost the trust of his father by spending his share of money on drinking and some drugs. So whenever they ask for more money even in case of some problems, the father will gladly give to the good son while he started to give lesser amount to the other son so that the son would not have any surplus for unnecessary drugs and drinks. In the same way, God our father is willing to give everything to His children as long as we use it for the right purpose. So to seek His kingdom and His righteousness is to seek His commands and stick to them.

Eli Eli lama sabachthani

Loneliness can be felt even among a multitude. I remember being shifted to a new school many times in my education career. Being a new boy in the school was not always a nice experience. Some students teasing, some not even bothering to talk, some so anxious to talk and many different and weird new activities around. The sound, the amusement and the quietness all adds to the loneliness of a new student in school. It is horrible even when no one bother us.
Then comes the college life. A new comer in the college, with many new unknown faces all around, surrounded by a bunch of notorious seniors trying to give ragging. The loneliness being multiplied by the torture of the wild seniors makes the life terribly horrible.
Besides, another terrible thing is being lonely when we see our friends all around yet no one dare to talk us. All acting like a stranger to us; the friends that have hanged out and partied with us, the friends whom we have helped many times and the friends who have helped us many times, the friends with whom many promises have been made.
Jesus, faced all the possible loneliness and betrayal from his own friends, all together the week of passion. No one was there to share his pain and agony because our sins were to heavy for a normal human to bear. This was not all, he was further left by his own father, God-the father. This pain and agony made him cry out, "Eli Eli lama sabachthani" meaning "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Many people misinterpret this words saying that Jesus was not the true son of God. But the thing is that Jesus was too ugly with the whole humanity sin he was carrying. He was getting the experience of Hell for us, so that we will be safe from our eternal punishment. Jesus was so lonely despite the multitude that surround Him and His disciple and mother around.
God will never spare us with our sins just as He led His only son died on the cross. We will die for eternity in hell. But as Jesus defeated death and rose again on the third day, we will also defeat death by trusting Jesus. I am ever grateful to Jesus for what He has done for me. So, I am sharing it here. Ever since I have accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and savior, there has not been a single day He has left me. He forgives my sins, gives me peace, and continues to guide me in all my ways. Even when i stray away from him and fall down, all i do is call Him, He is always right besides me. Friends, if you want true happiness, Jesus is always there when you called Him and surrender yourself to Him.

A reason to live

Science tells us that living things whether small or big, irrespective of their nature, have their own purpose and reason. If God has created even the small minute particles with a purpose, it is without question that everyone has his/her own purpose in life. In fact, it is a personal relationship with God to know why He created us. However, as we all know that human wants are unlimited. Money, fame and power will never satisfy the ever greedy minds of man. After enjoying all possible worldly pleasure, king Solomon admits in his book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes book that the soul purpose of man is to fear the Lord and obey His commandments. And Jesus says that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord your God with all heart, mind and soul; and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
I have been thinking of what I should be doing since my childhood, but now I have realized that
what ever I do, and how much ever I may have earned, if I do not love my neighbors or the people around me. Or say, if I do not help the people whoever I can help, then a time will always come in my life when I say I had no pleasure in what I have done.
There have been a few times when I have help people with what I can do(though not much), It is always a great feeling to see their happy faces. Nothing is too small in doing a good thing. Besides when I see great people being greeted by the people they have helped, it is much more enviable than a millionaire who is just stared upon, because of the wealth he possesses.
When a man truly loves a woman, he automatically love all the things that the woman loves including her family and even her pets, he wouldn't do anything that will hurt the things that the woman loves because he loves the woman and doesn't want to hurt her feelings. In the same way, if we love God we ought to love his creatures and human in particular. God love the world so much that he gave his only begotten son, so if we love God we ought to do good for the world and the well being of the world. After all, what is money without happiness? What is a man who has the whole world but loses his life?

Blessing in disguise

When Apostle Paul was in prison, sometimes he wishes to get out of the prison thinking that he could be more useful rather than just write letters to the churches in different places. The churches might also pray for his release at those times, however the Lord said "NO" to their prayers and Paul was in prison writing letters. But now his letters have constituted the major part of the New Testaments and millions of people are blessed everyday reading his letters.
In this world there are times when we try things really hard; to achieve things that we desire; with prayers and discipline. Yet we don't get the things we get for. It is not that the Lord did not answer our prayer, HE indeed answered but with a 'NO'. There are many great things that the Lord has planned for us, beyond our vision and beyond our mind can imagine. Sometimes the Lord bless us with failures because HE does not want us to be proud. He wanted us to know that He have done things for us. Even Moses the great prophet himself was not free from this pride which the Lord hates. He made a great mistake that cost him not to enter the promise land because he thought that he could hit the water out of the rock; he forgot the Lord. The Lord always wants his children to remember him.
"Blessed is the man who is disciplined by the Lord". We should always be happy when the Lord says NO to our prayers. I remember my mother telling me that sometimes the hard working year turns out to be the year of famine. It is always good to know that the Lord wants us to learn something even from failures after hard work. For those who have not failed, always remember that God is the one behind your success.
